Dynamic Mailing Lists for Email & SMS Marketing

Requires: MA Memberships - Dynamic Mailing Lists module (and Email Marketing module, installed by your administrator).

This module automatically maintains mailing lists based on active program enrollments, so your marketing team always has up-to-date recipient lists.

What it creates

When installed, the module sets up:

List	Contents
Active – {Program Name}	One list per martial arts program - all contacts with an active enrollment in that program
Active Members (All Programs)	Every active member across all programs

Lists are dynamic - contacts are added and removed automatically as enrollments become active, inactive, or cancelled.

Email Marketing → Mailing Lists

Each program also shows its linked mailing list on the program form under Memberships → Configuration → Programs.

Go to Email Marketing → Mailings (or SMS Marketing if configured)
Create a new mailing
Select a mailing list: - Active – Youth Karate to reach only Youth Karate members - Active Members (All Programs) for school-wide announcements
Compose and send as usual

Lists stay current - you don't need to export/import member spreadsheets.

A contact is included when:

They have an enrollment in the program (or any program, for the all-members list)
The enrollment status is Active
The agreement is not cancelled

When an enrollment is set to Inactive or Cancelled, the contact is removed from the dynamic list automatically.

A student enrolled in two programs appears on both program-specific lists. They appear once on Active Members (All Programs).

Tip	Why
Use program-specific lists for belt test reminders, schedule changes	Parents only get relevant messages
Use the all-members list sparingly	School-wide news, holiday hours, re-enrollment campaigns
Ensure student/parent contacts have email addresses	Missing emails mean they won't receive mailings
Review Odoo's email opt-out settings	Respect marketing consent and unsubscribe preferences
